Conntek 14366 RV 30 Amp 25-Foot 10/3 Shiny Red Extension Cord Straight Blade Review

This cord seems to be very well made and has a nice design feature (in theory). The female end has a raised edge around the plug that would fit around a lip on the male end of the plug. With two matching plugs, it would probably make a nice, weather resistant connection. Unfortunately not all plugs (perhaps most?) do not have this same design, so when you try to plug your RV (or whatever) cord into the female end, the raised edge prevents the RV plug from seating completely. The three conductors make contact, so in theory it works, but it is not a very ideal connection and is actually more exposed than if the raised edge was not there.

If you have a plug with an end that matches this cord, it would be great for you. For the rest of us though it is not a good option. I'll be returning this in favor of a cord with a more standard connection.
