I have read a lot of reviews on this generator. First off the ds10000e is made to the exact same specs as the duromax Xp10000e but on sale $200 cheaper. Someone said that there battery was dead upon arrival and the gas tank no longer had a fuel gauge. mine has a gauge and my battery was fine. When I got I filled it with oil and gas turned the key for 5sec and it fired right up. I have a 1100sq foot home and it powered up ever light in the house along with 2 tvs 52" & 32", stereo, xbox, two direct tv boxes, cd player, keurig coffee maker, Kenmore elite trio fridge, electric stove (only tried one element on the stove), my oil burner (I have a indirect water tank) I only ran it for 3 hours to try it out but it ran great! Basically I can run my whole house. If you have a electric water heater you might have to shut a few things down flip the breaker on for the water heater until it heats up then shut it down until you need it again.
