In the past, the only way to deal with crabgrass was a pre-emergence control. IMO these worked poorly at best and crabgrass always appeared with the summer heat, defacing a lawn which looked wonderful a month before.

I have now applied Weed Stop Plus Crabgrass Killer twice and the results are very good. I have a sunny slope which is a particular problem and has always been thick with crabgrass by August despite pre-emergence control. I applied this product once at the end of July and again a week or 2 into August using a tank sprayer. I observed all the precautions (temps under 85, no mowing 2 days before or after, etc.) and the area is now essentially crabgrass free with no significant damage to desirable grasses. This is an effective answer to one of the homeowner's most annoying landscaping problems.

I am very familiar with Scott's products as my father used them on our lawn when I was about 5 years old. I remember our lawn being the best in the neighborhood. I too, now that I have my own home, use the full line of Scott's fertilizers and start with the Turf Builder with HALTS in early March. I then apply this product 6 to 8 weeks after applying the TurfBuilder with HALTS. It is now the end of April and I have a few more weeks to go before I will be ready to apply the Turf Builder with PLUS 2 Weed Control, but my lawn looks the best in the neighborhood already, with 1 dandelion on a 3/4 acre lot. I don't know how it got there, but I had to pluck it out of the lawn the other day. I will say that this product says apply to a wet lawn and you MUST do that. Since May can be a hot month where I leave, it is important to water your grass regularly and don't go more than a few days after the application without watering and you better not spill any on your grass because this is a chemical and you need to take precautions (Never fill your spreader on your grass, always use the sidewalk or the driveway). Read the label carefully and if you follow the directions you will have a beautiful lawn. I follow the 4 cycle plan and have never been dissatisfied.

This stuff works better than anything I've tried!! I have a large extra area outside my back yard fence but within our property wall. I think the previous owner used it for RV parking. We basically don't use it except for a small vegetable garden strip. Most of the area is landscaped with grey crusher fines and rock. Every summer it was a non-stop battle against many varieties of pernicious weeds and desert grasses contunually sprouting and growing in the crusher fines and the rocked areas. It's windy in the SW and we're across the street from a large open-space area that is just dirt and weeds. Weed and grass seeds are blown around the neighborhood all spring and summer. Every weekend I was out there with Spectracide (by the way, better than Round-up in my opinion) and a hand sprayer killing weeds when they were still small. If I missed a weekend or two, OMG, I'd have to get out there with a tank sprayer and kill and kill weeds and varieties of junk grass. This year I tried Noxall. It's not cheap but IT'S ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT to me to not have to do ANY weed control. NOTHING grows in the treated area. ZERO, ZILCH, NADA. It was very easy to apply. i just used a "whirly-bird" hand fertilizer spreader and walked back and forth bending down low until I had covered the whole area. Then you water it in once. I swear by this stuff. Ok, that's all!

I purchased the first small bottle of this product at the local feed store and was very impressed with the results. So much so, I went online hunting for a larger amount as the feed store only carried smaller spray bottles.

I highly recommend this product for weed control if you are of the mind not to use commercially prepared chemicals that are not environmentally safe. I live next to a bluff that feeds into a cove and I was very concerned about the possibilities of polluted runoff into the bay. This product is made of botanical ingredients and for a positive note, has no "fuminess" like most chemical defoliants. I have a tendency to have reactive airway with fumes and this product did not bother me.

The product itself works very well. It took down the fireweed, pigweed and broadleaf weeds that had taken hold in my yard. The product does not damage surrounding grass.
