In the past, the only way to deal with crabgrass was a pre-emergence control. IMO these worked poorly at best and crabgrass always appeared with the summer heat, defacing a lawn which looked wonderful a month before.

I have now applied Weed Stop Plus Crabgrass Killer twice and the results are very good. I have a sunny slope which is a particular problem and has always been thick with crabgrass by August despite pre-emergence control. I applied this product once at the end of July and again a week or 2 into August using a tank sprayer. I observed all the precautions (temps under 85, no mowing 2 days before or after, etc.) and the area is now essentially crabgrass free with no significant damage to desirable grasses. This is an effective answer to one of the homeowner's most annoying landscaping problems.
