Was well packaged for protection. Seems like it's well built and sturdy. I only had it hooked up for a few minutes, the fan did not come on at all. I don't believe it is a defect, I think it simply wasn't needed for such a short duration and light load I had on it.
Pure sine wave of course costs more, and after reading reviews of how 'technical electronic' devices should use pure sine wave, I went ahead and took the plunge on a small wattage one. Just for peace of mind, wouldn't want to 'ruin' the laptop, router Ipod touch, Kindle Fire HD etc...And I have a sibling who does have a medical device that should the electric go out while on a visit here, I have the answer in pure sine wave inverter!
Seller packaged well, inside and outside the box and the outer box.
