I used a pare of these MISOL Y branch MC4 connectors to connect two strings of series-connected solar panels on the roof of my RV. They plugged right into the existing MC4 wiring and are incredibly easy to use. The connectors have o-rings and appear to make a water tight connection though I haven't tested that. This is a far easier (and cheaper) solution than using a junction box and soldering or screwing wires to terminals.
