Instead, connect your Generac portable generator to this permanently installed manual transfer switch. The Generac 6408 manual transfer switch allows you to safely switch from utility to portable generator power in emergencies and power critical circuits through your home's electrical system. This convenient kit includes a prewired, 6-circuit, 30-Amp transfer switch that can be expanded to 10 circuits and a 30-Amp aluminum power inlet box that mounts on the outside of your home to allow for fast cord connection to your generator. The Generac 6408 also comes with a 10-foot cord with male and female ends in NEMA configuration L14-30, a wiring harness, conduit and fittings, wire connectors, an installation manual and an extra 20-Amp plug to accommodate generators up to 5000-Watts. This transfer switch includes dual-Watt meters to help you balance loads on your generator to avoid premature burnout. This kit requires a 2-pole 60-Amp breaker to be installed in the main load center and additional breakers may be added to accommodate consumer-specific needs.
