Product Description
Ideal for use on farms and ranches, maintenance, construction, and even emergency power outages at home, the DuroStar DS4000WGE gas-powered generator has a 16.0-horsepower, 480cc engine that cranks out 3,500 constant running watts of power (and a peak of 4,000 watts; learn more about wattage needs below). It includes both a standard recoil start as well as an easy electric start.
Additionally, the DS4000WGE power generator doubles as a powerful arc welder, and it's designed for stick welding with quick, easy arc starts. It has a welding output current of 150 amps with an amp range of 50-210 amps and voltage range of 26-30 volts (DC).

The power panel features the main controls, including start switch, volt meter, and circuit breaker. It offers two 120-volt, 20-amp, 3-prong outlets to supply power to all of your home appliances, plus one 120-volt, 30-amp three-prong twist-lock outlet for high-powered tools.

Your Generator Needs
To determine whether a generator is appropriate for your needs, you need to first add up the wattage of tools, appliances, and motors you want to run at the same time. Then select a generator with the running wattage rating to match or exceed the total load.
Keep in mind that tools and appliances with electric motors require additional surge wattage at startup that can be double or triple the normal running wattage requirement. Look at the surge watts required and make sure you choose a generator with enough additional wattage to start them. DuroStar DS4000WGE 4,000 Watt Gas Powered Portable Generator With Electric Start And 210 AMP Electric Welder Combo Review
DuroStar made a great portable welder/generator. When I first got it, it was delivered by FEDEX on a pallet. It requires that "some assembly required" type deals where you put things like, Wheels, handles, support legs, and air in the tires. But not only that, the battery you see on the picture here, DuroStar did not supply a ground wire to make a connection for the ignition start. So I had to make one. Note: Make sure that some of the coating on the frame is bare for the ground wire to work, there is a small hole to bolt it to it. The generator also comes with two plug-ends for the welder, one positive, one negative, but DuroStar did not supply the line feed or the clamps either. So I had to go to my near-by hardware store and buy 20 ft of line and two claps for it. Note: The clerk will ask you what size the line is, tell him its a size two. So just when you think that I'm done, the company gave me metric round-over nuts that didn't go all the way in cause the threads where to long for it. *Sigh* So once again I'm off to the store to get two regular metric bolts with two lock-washers. I'm done right? No, before I started it, I looked through the manual and it said that you must get SAE 10W-30 oil with SJ stamped on the back of it, and it must be exactly that kind of oil too. We're off to see the store, the wonderful store of hardware. So finally, it's done. Now I got it started and it runs like a dream. I love it, but man... make a list once you get it.Items to buy once you get it.

To be fair, I'd tried to cancel the order but they said it was to late, and I'm glade it was, cause I love it, and I'm learning all that I can, cause I'm trying to do this for a living.
