I bought this to mount on my 32 foot sailboat, which I am in the process of doing as I write this. I have had it set up in my back yard to test it out and it's really doing what it's supposed to do.

The folks at Grape couldn't be better. Garret has been unbelievable and always answers my questions promptly and knowledgeably.

I'm running the panel through a Morningstar MPPT controller which Garret recommended. Very happy with the entire setup so far. I'll update after I get it mounted on the boat.

Given just a casual checkout .. All waveforms looked clean and proper with my scope. The squarewave and triangle both rounded off at higher frequencies. All controls operated smoothly and properly. The enclosure was a little rough on the back. Unit crammed in box without any padding but was not damaged. No user manual, but you can find one online. Operation is not complex. Shipping time was over two weeks from China. Overall a nice signal source in small package with a bonus counter function. Fine for casual needs and usage.

ETQ DG4LE 4,900 Watt 8 HP 296cc Diesel Powered Portable Generator With Electric Start Review

First off, yes the generator is new, but it is actually 5 years old. The Date of Manufacture is 2005. I received the generator with the packaging damaged and the control panel rear cover broke, no problem, nothing was damaged other than a shattered cover. I called the California office and they said they would send me a new rear cover out, a month later and still no cover. Hour meter quit after 9.4 hours and the capacitor started to warp, not putting out full voltage. I called the shop in Ohio and they said they would send me out the parts so I could replace it myself. I am a truck driver and I was using the generator to power my block heater and a space heater inside my cab. I also had two fans plugged into the generator to make sure it stayed cool since I had mounted the generator inside a box (5'x8'x9') behind my cab. Well the generator had been running great. It was using a descent amount of oil, but that actually started to taper off to just a few ounces every 6 hours(I figured the motor was starting to break in). It also has a starting problem, the electric started didn't want to grab on the first turn of the key, it sounded like it would just spin, but after a few attempts, (sometimes more, sometimes less) it would grab the flywheel and start. It also wouldn't turn off with the key, I had to flip the manual kill switch, but honestly these last two items didn't bother me considering the price I paid for the generator, I expected a few problems. Well tonight I went to start the generator, it ran for 30 seconds then the oil light came on(I had just topped it off before I started it) and it shut down. I tried to start it again after making sure the oil level was correct and it shut down again. I manually turned the motor over and it sounded like there was something loose in the bottom end of the motor. I wanted to take it apart myself and find out, but considering this is supposed to have a 1 yr/1000 hr warranty I decided not to and I am trying to find a shop to look at it. I gave it a one star rating because I was really upset that the generator was 5 years old! Also because of all the little problems and now the real big one. Who knows, I might change my mind after a shop looks at the motor and if they decide to honor their warranty. I bought this brand of diesel generator because a fair amount of the etq products on amazon.com have a descent star rating. We will see.

This is an outstanding product that was just put to the test last week. I was able to power my essentials (2 Fridges, lights, furnace, well pump, sump pump, tv, dvd, 2 cooking plates, crock pot, and my neighbors furnance, and never exceeded 50% load. We usually ran at 20% making my effeciency much higher. I actually got 20 hour run times on one tank of gas (9 gallons). The only time I stopped running this machine was to fill it with gas, and change the oil. This is a great, reliable, effecient, reliable, powerful, reliable unit. Did I mention it was reliable?
