I purchased this device to try to charge my cell phone with the sun. The device was very well constructed, and easy to use. When the device is fully charged (with a USB cable and wall charger - which wasn't included), it was easy to charge my iPhone (3G) by plugging the iPhone cable into the included USB slot.

Unfortunately, even after leaving this device out in the full sun for an entire day, it failed to even charge the internal battery over 25%. What this means is that if you plan to use this for solar power, you have to leave it in the sun for the better part of a full week in order to get enough power to recharge a cell phone.

That said, it works well as a portable battery. Just not as a solar panel.
