The packaging was good, and the unit arrived without damage. I hooked it up to an oscilliscope to verify the waveform, and then tested it with various loads (resistive & inductive) and appliances up to 4200watts (briefly). The unit held a good sine wave throughout all the testing, although the voltage dropped a little (from 120.4V to 112.0V) at the high output, which is normal. There is a slight distortion in the wave as it passes through the 0-volt point, but well within the <3% distortion specified.

One small issue: As it comes from the factory, it's set for an output of 110 volts AC, which is OK for most applications, but I wanted a full 120V output. The manual says it can be changed, but only by a "certified installer". I have a lot of experiance with electronics, so I went ahead & did it. If you want to do this yourself, MAKE SURE THE UNIT IS OFF AND DISCONNECTED FROM THE BATTERIES before you start. You will need to remove the whole front face plate (6 screws) to access the 2 DIP switches that set the output voltage. You can find the settings on the last page of the manual. Once I changed it, and reassembled & reconnected the unit, the output was a good 120.4 VAC. If you're not comfortable doing this safely, have a "certified installer" do it.

Overall, I highly recommend this unit.

I do achieve 0.566 volts on all chips tested but only measure approx. 1.1 amps. The documentation and Amazon's 1KW banner suggest that I should be getting close to 3.75 amps. I have tried to contact the company both by phone and e-mail and have had no reply. I am still trying to get an answer and it's been close to 5 weeks now. Edited Post(3/12/13): The story I get from Eddie just doesn't make sense. He's telling me that you need to tab several together to achieve the 3.75 amps quoted. By his own explanation, water pipe analogy, we would actually only be reading the lowest current. I asked how he tested his cells...of course no answer. I would stay far away from this company. Very far away.

I'm sure they will work even though I haven't used them yet. I bought them just in case the solar panels I bought didn't have these type of connectors on the ends of the cable wires. They do, so this was not needed, but down the road, I might find a use for them.
In any case, they arrived promptly and look like they will do the job. I've bought duel connectors (already put together) from this same company which I'm very satisfied with, so I have no doubt about these working.

Goal Zero 19007 Guide 10 Adventure Kit Review

I got it quick as usaul from Amazon. I got the Luna Light and Battery pack and 7watt solar charger. It comes in a neat little package with a small pocket which will hold the battery pack and most supplied charging cords. The 12v. female cigerette socket cord and Luna light I had to sandwich inside the foldable solar case which barely would velcro close. I really haven't gotten to test the product thoroughly yet but played with it on the patio and checked to make sure everything was working right, which it seemed to be.
When registering my product on their Goal0 website apparently they are recalling the battery pack with a certain ser. number so check yours if you get one. Anyway, I called cust. support and the guy is going to ship me one of the replacements and let me keep the one that came with the package ( cool ), he said use it till it breaks ( cool again ).

I bought this for my Go Bag so I would be able to charge my GPS and flashlight batteries. It will charge AAA and AA Metal Hydride Batteries only ( in the battery pack ). It seems to be built pretty tough and the company says that rain and such won't hurt it. I think they did their home work when making this thing it has all the power cords you could want to charge anything.

My only complaint or recommendation is to add a bigger pouch or incorperate one big enough to hold all the accesories and extra batteries together so things don't get lost.

Great and usefull gadget. When you call the company the automated voicemail says " an awesome customer service agent will be with you in a minute ". In my case, they were awesome. It is such a pleasure to buy something from a company who really tries to take care of their customers the way I would and did when I had my small business. Great people and products and I'm glad I ran across them when searching for solar panels.

Oh yeah! the battery pack has a charging light that lets you know how well it is charging by how fast the light flashes and the color of light lets you know the status of the charge. Just has a lot of well thought out usefull features. NEEDS a BIGGER pouch though.
