Purchased from Amazon, Jan 2013. Unit arrived quickly and in good condition. Installed wheels and handles, put the included oil in engine and some gas in the tank. Turned on fuel, set run switch to RUN, choke to ON position. Pulled recoil handle a few times and generator is running, set choke to OFF position. (About 30 min. since starting wheel assemble) . Let run about 15 min. then connected two 1500 watt heaters, one to each duplex socket, then made some voltage and frequency measurements. No load measured 125v, and 125v @63 HZ. Turned on both heaters (about 3000 watt load), engine adjusted to increased load without surging or hunting, measured 122.6v and 122.8v @ 62HZ. Unbalanced load voltages were between 119.6v and 128.9v @ 62.5Hz. Generator seems to be of quality parts and construction. The manual leaves a lot to be desired. It doesn't mention the fuel filter on the shutoff valve, or specifications for air filter replacement, give valve lash settings. It doesn't have exploded parts view and parts list or electrical schematic. As with any expensive tool or appliance, you should verify the availability of service in your area.
