This switch was included with my Generac 5875 20KW generator and works just fine. Without it I would have had to assign specific circuits to be powered during a power failure. With it my whole house is protected. It is more economical to buy this switch as part of a package rather than separately.

Note: This is rated 200 Amp because that is the standard rating for most residential electric panels. However, just as you cannot run every single item in your house at the same time without blowing a fuse, you can't do it with this switch either when there is a power failure (to actually run 200 amp I think I read that you would need a 48KW generator). However this switch will sense if there is a circuit overload so you don't have to worry about electrical problems during a power outage.
