They were better than the panel connectors because they had locking tabs, while the panel connectors did not have that little tab to lock the connectors together. One thing, i have a HEX crimper but decided to solder the conductor pin also since i don't want to deal with fixing anything on the roof for 20 years. Last thing, 8ga wire will fit thru the shell and pin will crimp perfectly.
