The grape solar 100-watt off-grid solar panel kit is ideal for a variety of dc applications, including rvs, boats, 12 volt battery charging, small pumps, and led lights. Made with high efficiency crystalline solar cells for years of service, this solar kit is easy to install and virtually maintenance free. An anodized aluminum frame and a sealed junction box make the panel weatherproof for outdoor use. A two diode bypass minimizes power drop caused by shade. You can easily add additional panels for more power. This system will provide approximately 300-watt hours or 25 amp hours of charge per day. The kit includes: 1-piece Grape Solar GS-STAR-100W 100-watt Polycrystalline solar panel a 35 Amp Xantrex charge controller, cables and manual.

I have done quite a bit of researches on the solar panel components for my solar panel project. I have decided to purchase this Grape Solar panel kit based on the quality of the components and its price per watt for the solar panels.

Here are some details on the components that come with this kit :

- Solar Panel : 100W 36 cells Monocrystalline panel with a 10 year limited warranty on power output ≥ 90% of the power rating. This panel has an approximate daily production of 300 Watt hours of power. The actual power produced is depending on the location and weather condition.

- Charge Controller : this is the Xantrex C35 model which is a pretty good quality unit handling upto 35A of charge current

- The kit comes with a set of 6" MC4 cables and a pair of 5 ft 10 AWG cables for hooking up to the charge controller / battery.

I also bought the Xantrex PROWatt 600 Inverter, Model# 806-1206 which is a true sine-wave inverter to power my AC appliances.

I would recommend this kit over the cheaper Amorphous solar panels which are out-of-date technology and less efficient than the Monocrystalline technology.

Note : the pricing of the 100W Grape Solar panel on amazon is quite a bit higher than other sources. The Grape solar web site has a list of authorized dealers including Costco and Home Depot.

- have been using this panel since January, 2013 and it has been producing an average of 220 Wh daily on the average in Northern California. Keep in mind that it is during the non-peak season for the sun energy
