I hate to review it this early since it hasn't been significantly battle tested yet but so far I'm quite happy. Here are my thoughts after running it about an hour. It's sturdy. The thing is heavy and big. through the vent holes you can read that the components are all "Cotek" and if you look up Cotek 24v inverter on Amazon, you'll find what i believe is the same inverter at about the same price. I plugged in a blow dryer and ran it up to 1500w with no issue. Seems to work great. It makes a relatively quiet but noticeable high-pitch noise. I wouldn't want it next to my bed but would be fine in a closet, or in an office where there are other electronics and fans running. When power isn't being drawn, it automatically shuts itself into power conservation mode and the noise stops. There are some decent videos about this inverter on YouTube. The reviews there seem very positive and attest to the longevity of the product. Overall, I have limited experience so far but all signs point toward this being a good purchase.

Very Good Generator. Very Good Value. I recently installed this Generator myself with an Electrician. Much of the installation is DIY, but You Need an Electrician to Run the Service Entrance Cable to the Transfer Switch First and then to the Fusebox Second. You definitely need an expert for that, because 240V at the service entrance can kill you.
The rest of the wiring is easy. I Bundled together Romex 4/3 with Ground, 12/3 with ground, and 18/5 sprinkler wire.T his generator has the well regarded approximately 1L, Vanguard Engine with 35HP. This is a Commercial Engine used in commercial tools and small tractors and is an Excellent Value in a Residential generator. Engine is Loud but very Powerful, and insulation could be thicker and is not applied on the back wall inside. This engine Runs Best on a heavy Load.
Transfer switch with Load shedding is good, but instructions on setting Dip Switches could be clearer. I recommend setting the dip switch to allow generator to warm up for 50 seconds prior to Load Transfer. The case is Galvaneal which like your car Rusts when Scratched, aluminum is preferable. Buy the Maintenance Kit. Its a bargain because it has oil and filter and oil filter and plugs, though I intend on putting in Platinum spark plugs

You Must get the Heater Kit because I saw even the light 5w30 synthetic oil Congeal in freezing Temps, and the oil warmer (and battery warmer) keeps it liquid. I had a problem in that generator kept shutting down. The Briggs telephone customer service guy is very Nice and Helpful.

I had a problem with the generator starting and then shutting down without putting out any power.The problem is that when I called the Local Distributors to do a warranty repair as per Briggs Headquarters, No Distributor was Willing to come to my house to do the Repair unless I signed up with a contract with them. I don't need a $400 contract to change the oil and filters. Although Briggs says that this is not required, they do need to better Monitor compliance by Local Distributors, who are only interested in coming if they either installed it or have a contract with you.

I therefore opened the Computer compartment and I saw a Connector disconnected. Connecting it fixed the Problem. Be sure to double check the settings on the transfer switch and double check the generator advanced settings on the generator screen, as mine had to be set to the correct 18KW on NG, and it showed that it was only set to 16KW NG. Remember 20kw Gen is only 18KW on NG.

I also Noticed that the Air Filter Did Not Come from the Factory with the Pre-Filter, (a green wrap around foam) that is included in the Tune Up kit purchased separately. There appear to be some Quality Control issues at the factory. A nice feature is the ability to program the exercise Date & time in the computer instead of Generacs requirement that you actually start it at the exact weekly time you want it to exercise.

There is an electronic Gas valve that is outside for fire protection reasons, and I recommend that you shelter it from the rain with a leaning a piece of metal or stone against the back of the generator.

Overall a Very Good Value for the price. Very Powerful engine, Clean power with No Flickering and a Nice Transfer Switch.
I recommend that you download the GE and Rheem Generator Manuals, since those Generators are Rebadged Briggs generators and the Manuals have additional information, regarding the undocumented menu that I show in the Video

I do Recommend this Generator. If you have Multiple Air Conditioner Units, then Get the Version from GE because that Transfer Switch allows for management of Multiple Remote AC compressors to prevent overloading the generator. Also Always Install a 5-2-1 Hard Start Capacitor Kit, as I show in my other video, so that the AC Compressors start up easily without overloading the generator.

Sunforce 37126 260W Crystalline Solar Kit Review

I bought this kit about 3 months ago. Took some time to peace everything together required to install it. First off,the instructions are useless. The power inverter that comes with the kit is useless. It's made to use in your car for a laptop or some other small electronic equipment like a small TV and a light? (maybe) I purchased a Xantrex Prowatt SW1000 and the remote switch from Amazon, WORKS GREAT! The battery tester is another useless piece of junk included in the kit. It's just two diods that light up.(YOU WILL NOT GET WHAT IS PICTURED IN THE KIT). The mounting brackets for the solar panels are really not practical but could be used if you have nothing else and plan on mounting your panels nearly flat on the surface of your roof. But I would not recommend that unless your roof points due South and is at the right pitch for your location. I made a frame out of angle iron that works very well. The charge contoller works,(at least mine did) but it's not the best. (MINIMAL PROFROMACE AT BEST) I would suggest a MPPT charge controller like a Morningstar, Tristar TS-MPPT-45. The panels seem to work very well so far. They do work in low light conditions. I have been able to fully charge four T105 batteries everyday that have 60%-65% of their charge left. But with the Sunforce charge controller it takes all day long in full sun. I have ordered the Tristar 45 and I'm sure I will be able to charge the battery bank in much less time. Just do your homework and you'll find the same answers. Also note that Sunforce customer service is a joke. Simon will tell you all kinds of silly things before he will give you an RMA to return product. My friend bought two kits when I bought mine and he had to return both of the charge controllers as defective right out of the box. It's been over 6 weeks now and nothing. Simon does not answer his emails and they have not returned his charge controllers to date! Also please note that the solar panels IN THIS KIT ARE Polycrystalline and not MONOCRYSTALINE. The discription is really not accurate. It reads "The Sunforce 260 watt crystalline solar kit". It does not tell you anywhere in the add or on their website if the product is Poly or Mono???? Buyer beware.
Bottom line: Amazon is awesome and very easy to do business with and their customer service is very good. SUNFORCE is not straight forward with their discription in the ad, you will not get what is pictured and customer sevice is terrible!!

Tektrum 30A 12V/24V Solar Panel Charge Controller - 30% Power Boost Review

This is a $20 standard solar panel charge controller that is being sold as an expensive MPPT ( maximum power point tracking) controller.

An MPPT controller needs 2 additional components beyond what is in a standard charge controller to make it function. It needs a microcomputer to scan and calculate the maximum power point voltage and it needs a high-frequency switching voltage down converting power supply to convert the power at this voltage (about 17 V) down to the voltage that the batteries need (12-13.7 V). Voltage down converting power supplies need a large toroid inductor (transformer) to temporarily store the energy difference so that extra current can be supplied to the batteries at the lower voltage. You can see by looking through the vent holes that this unit does not contain that inductor ( transformer).

The manual although a poor English translation from Chinese states that the MPPT functions only during constant voltage charge (reduced current charge to prevent battery damage) and not during maximum charge. This is insane as the only need for MPPT is during times when the batteries need the maximum current from the solar collectors. In fact it is only under maximum current that MPPT can even function.

When I tested my 8A 17V (MPP) solar collector connected directly to 220AHr batteries with a 50A load on them my amp meter showed 8.4A when battery voltage was 12.4V. When I inserted this supposedly MPPT controller the amp meter varied wildly from 2A to 8A averaging only 6A. During the occasional 1 second time that the amp meter showed 8A, the solar panel voltage had been pulled down to just 12.6V. This shows that the controller had simply electrically connected the panels to the battery which is exactly what the manual said it would do when not on MPPT.

The manual shows that this Chinese manufacturer makes these in 15, 20, and 30 amp sizes and 2 Amazon vendors (Tektrum and Instapark) put their own label on it. Three other reviewers of various sizes of this unit have also concluded that this is a fraud and not MPPT. There were 3 more reviews of these but none tested them for MPPT.

I have requested a refund and filed an A-to-z Guarantee claim. After 2 weeks of hassle I still do not have a refund.

I have used this generation for two very long power outages over the past six months, one for 6 days, and another for 4 days. I had never felt I had a need for a generator because in the 8+ years were owned our house we seldom lost power, and when we did it was just for a couple of hours. However, this past June we were hit by a tornado and lost power for 3 days, so decided it would be nice to have a generator for our families peace of mind.

Quite frankly I choose the Duracell generator because of Amazon was offering free shipping, and it was a name I had at least heard of before. It turned out to be an excellent decision. I ran this generator continuously during two long blackouts 6 days and 4 days without a hitch. It started quickly (electric start) and was powerful enough to run our refrigerator, as well as our main TV, satellite box, DVD player, modem (we still had phone service- DSL), wireless router, and a computer with no problems at all.

I would recommend this generator to anyone looking for easy back-up power.

These are the best solar path lights I have ever seen. I have tried several brands but Yards and Beyond is the best so far. I bought a set of the "24x better lights" a couple of years ago and they are doing fine. I needed some more so I paid a little extra and bought these "36X better than average" solar path lights. You will be amazed at how bright they are! I put my older solar lights in the back yard and installed these new lights along the sidewalk to the house. Also,I have an old electric "coach" light in the front yard whose electric cord to the house broke sometime over the last few years. I would have had to dig under or destroy a piece of the sidewalk that was in the way if I chose to rewire it. I looked everywhere for a bright solar coach lamp to replace it. The best I could find ranged from $130 - $195 just for the lamp piece. When I got these lights I cut the old electical(dead) wire and took the old incandescent fixture head off and put this light and its post right down into the old 3" post pole. Voila! A tiny bit smaller than ideal for looks but the light is the brightest in the neighborhood. I can't imagine anyone being disappointed in these attractive, easy to work with and BRIGHT lights. I purchased them from Amazon/Ace Hardware. Very fast shipping and excellent customer service from Amazon and ACE Hardware.
